FPC Screen Application Example: Masataka ABG

Masataka ABG is a company that focus on the development and after-sales service of various LCD screens and touch screens, including advertising display screens, industrial touch screens, and consumer electronic LCD screens. The company was founded in 1980 and is located in Tokyo, Japan. With over 40 years of experience in digital and electronic product development and marketing.

In 2012, the CEO, Mr. Kimura, visited the SEGA market in Shenzhen to gain more knowledge about FPC technology and processes. One of his Chinese friends contacted our company, Mondo Technology, as we have been involved in FPC manufacturing and SMT services since 2009. Mr. Kimura shared his company’s catalog with us, showcasing a wide range of touch screens and LCD screen products, which aligned well with our business.

During the meeting, Mr. Kimura presented some samples, including industrial screens with FPC, advertising display FPCs, and other consumer electronic products with FPC. He inquired if we could clone these samples without the Gerber files. Our engineers carefully examined the samples and assured Mr. Kimura that we could clone them and provide new samples within approximately one week.

After about a week, we successfully cloned all the samples and produced new ones. We promptly sent these new samples to Japan via DHL. Mr. Kimura received the samples and was highly satisfied with our work. After thorough testing by his company, we commenced mass production approximately one month later.

Taking into account the different samples provided by Mr. Kimura, we initiated the production process step by step to meet his requirements and specifications.

How We Helped Our Customer’s Business

We played a crucial role in helping our customer, Mr. Kimura from Masataka ABG, enhance their business through our FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) services. Here’s an overview of how we supported their needs:

FPC Double Panel Technical Indicators:
We provided FPC double panel manufacturing with specific technical indicators, including processing size, thickness of the processing plate, base material copper foil thickness, and commonly used substrates. We offered various surface finishes such as light copper, nickel plating, gold plating, spray tin, immersion gold, anti-oxidation, lead-free spray tin, and immersion tin.

FPC Double-Sided Process Capability:
Our capabilities included drilling holes, hole metallization, wire width, wire spacing, gold-plated plate, tin spray plate, milling plate, socket chamfering, and V cut. We ensured high precision and quality by adhering to specific measurements, tolerances, and depth requirements.

Prenatal Treatment:
We emphasized the importance of prenatal pretreatment to ensure the production of high-quality FPC boards. Our engineers conducted FPC board engineering evaluations and prepared the necessary materials based on the customer’s CAD structure diagram and gerber circuit data. This evaluation process helped determine the feasibility of production and ensured that our production capacity met the customer’s requirements.

SMT Service:
After the FPC processing was completed, we arranged the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) service. This involved mounting the necessary components onto the double-sided FPC cables, ensuring the functionality and performance of the final product.

Quality Control and Shipment:
We invited Mr. Kimura and his friends to our factory in Shenzhen to double-check the finished items. We provided spare units for replacement in case any units did not meet the required standards. Once all the mass production was completed and quality assured, we securely packaged the FPC cables and arranged shipment to Tokyo, Japan, using DHL Express for a fast and reliable delivery.
